The Key West race week that is lined up for 2017 has entries coming in now.
There are about 6 categories decided and 40 boats which are lined up to compete in the Quantum Key West Race Week in 2017. Among the different classes decided for the event the J/111s would be a prominent class that will feature in this race week that is scheduled in 2017 at Key West.
There is a discount period offered for first entries that will end by the first of October. After this the entry fees will increase. This would be the 30th event which has 44 boats lined up. There are several classes of boats that will be competing in this event. These include Melges 24, J/70, J/111 and C&C 30 One-Design.
The TP52 class would also be kicking off the Super Series in 2017 in this region. Indeed, there is a lot of sailing action that one can expect to see in Key West next year. As the class manager points out, several countries would be competing in this event such as Sweden, UK, Turkey, Japan, Italy, France, Germany, Argentina and others. These are teams who have raced in this class before. They have experience in steering Farr 40 or Melges 24. The 30th anniversary of this series has definitely got a lot of participation coming in including from American clubs.
This class will see a lot of talent coming in. There would be sailors who have participated in the Olympic Games, America’s Cup and other World championship events. This kind of racing would be a high caliber racing where every second would count. There would be a more relaxed style of racing called the Performance Cruising Class. This would be part of the Quantum Key West Race Week that would be part of the sailing activities in Key West next year.
